Martha Jo Katz
Martha Jo Katz, Georgian, international fashion model, entrepreneur, event consultant, artist & author has been named as the 2019 Best Strokes Honorary Chair. Here she gives a few words about her personal cancer experience:
"Breast and Ovarian Cancer have long been on my radar. My mother, Annette Harris Felson, was diagnosed in 1978 at age 64 and passed away at age 68. In the years since her death, my sister, four first cousins and many friends have had breast cancer. Added to those was a good friend who had ovarian cancer and other acquaintances fighting this battle.
I was my mother’s caretaker. Needless to say, it was not an easy task, but a journey I was happy to do. Thankfully, my mother was one who was willing to share the good and the bad with me. I learned so much about this dreaded disease and how important it is to find not only better treatments, but what causes it and hopefully a cure. I have been involved in fundraising for many years to eradicate both!
My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by Breast and Ovarian Cancer."
